Nearly 20% of all requests for action by Councillors to Swindon Borough Council in the last 12 months were logged by Cllr Kevin Parry and Cllr Dale Heenan – 430 out of 2,358 requests!

Cllr Kevin Parry came top out of 52 Councillors, while Cllr Dale Heenan came joint 5th – the most requests from any Cabinet member.

A Freedom of Information requested submitted by the Labour party, and published today, shows that Coleview, Covingham, Liden, and Nythe residents have among the hardest working Councillors across the town.

Cllr Dale Heenan, “Kevin and I work all year around, not just at election time, and take our roles very seriously. There is more to being a Councillor than simply casework or attending meeting, but our track record for local residents and the local area, shows that we are effective at getting things done. It is good to see Labour’s own figures showing local residents that they have a hard working team representing them.”

Cllr Kevin Parry, “One of my election pledges was to be a strong voice in the ward.  Dale and I have worked hard as a team to make necessary improvements in the ward, working with residents and Council Officers.  We have seen many roads and pavements across the ward be repaired and re-surfaced and continue to push for more to be done.  Our case work has shown that we do not sit back and only spring into action at election time, we work all year round putting the residents and the ward first”

Dale added, “Kevin and I make ourselves available to residents through regular door knocking, monthly surgeries, email, phone and walk the ward every week to identify things to improve, but more can always be done.

With Barbara Parry as the Conservative candidate on Thursday 5th May, local residents will have a very strong team giving them a voice on Swindon Borough Council”
