School Safety Zones for Nythe and Dorcan by April 2014
School Safety Zones are set to be launched in April 2014 for Nythe/Nyland School and Dorcan College after the scheme was delayed by 12 months.
Cllr Dale Heenan, “The aim of School Safety Zones is to improve both actual and perceived safety around school sites for children and young people walking or cycling to school, and to encourage a reduction in car use for the school journey. These schemes have the support of both Nythe and Nyland schools and Dorcan Academy. The main difference local residents should see are new 20mph flashing signs, near the School entrances on the Drive in Nythe and St Pauls Drive in Covingham. ”
