9/2/08 – Esso Objection Letter against 24hr Opening and Fuel Delivery
Local residents have contacted Phil, Glenn and I with their concerns about 2 recent Planning applications submitted by the Esso Petrol Station on Dorcan Way. I will be delivering a letter to residents in Nythe on Sunday 10th February highlighting these applications. We want to make sure as many people as possible have a chance to write in with their views on whether Esso should be allowed to open the Garage to be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Residents will be only to aware of the fight against Esso’s Alcohol License application last year, and our success in seeing a 24 hr License being refused.
To aid residents, we have drafted a letter of objection which can be printed and sent to the Planning Department. Click this link to download the file
I would like to draw residents attention to the Acoustic report submitted by Esso Garage. It dates back to May 2006, how can it be accurate in February 2008!
Phil is a member of the Planning Committee, and I am the Chairman of the Committee. We will always stand up local residents and take their views into account. Unfortunately neither of Phil or I can say that we would refuse these applications. If Phil or I say we will vote for/against an application at this stage, it is called predetermination and we would be unable to vote on the decision.
