Kevin Parry

A419I have lived in Liden most of my life and have fond memories of playing around Liden Lagoon. I went to Liden and Dorcan Schools followed by serving an apprenticeship in Vehicle Body Repair and Refinishing.

I have worked for Honda for almost 20 years having carried out many different jobs and have gained experience in Employment Law, policy making and negotiation.

My wife also grew up in Liden and we have two children. I have always being passionate about community and the people who live with in the community. Over the years, within the community, I have served on The Chalet, Covingham Park and Nythe School Governing Bodies. I have fund raised for Eldene Pre-school, been a helper for First Dorcan Scout Group – Beavers as well as running community regular Green Days (cleaning up the area). I am a firm believer that children should have the very best start in life which is way I became a School Governor at Covingham Park Primary School in 2006, then later The Chalet. I still serve on Covingham Park and in 2011 I also joined Nythe Primary School as a Governor and in 2012 became Chair of Governors.

In 2008 I was honoured to be elected as a Swindon Borough Councillor for the Dorcan Ward. I am a great believer that actions speak louder than words and my track record in the Ward speaks for itself and was the driving force for the Morrison site.

In 2011, I was elected on to the Great Western Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Board of Governors and re-elected in 2013. I currently serve on the Finance committee and help out on the Patient Experience Committee.

I am currently a Covingham Parish Councillor and I enjoy in working with my fellow Parish Councillors on local issues.

Local issues are always close to my heart and is why I have led the campaign on Nythe Lake and have supported ward Councillors Dale Heenan and Richard Hurley. I have supported them with issues such as Coleview bus service, Nythe Parish Council and the sound barrier on the A419.
