Designs to improve Liden Centre are now ready for consultation and the dates have been announced!

Swindon Borough Council has provided Council owned Shopping Centres around the town a total of £450,000 to implement improvements. Guildford Avenue, Old Town and Freshbrook are both due to have work starting in March, while Covingham Square is about to be signed off and start tendering.

Cllr Dale Heenan, “In the last six months we have turned around the various Shopping Centre improvement projects from being stalled to having tangible progress being made. Liden Centre represents the fourth Shopping Centre to have its improvements designed and while it has not been easy to reach a consensus we do have cross political party support. It has been hard work by all those involved especially from the Council Landscape team.

This is a consultation process and this is a real opportunity to refine the designs with the input from residents. Changes will occur, but we have to be realistic about how far £75,000 will stretch”

The Liden Centre Consultation will take place in Liden library from Tuesday 11th February with a drop in session from 3pm to 7pm. The display will remain in the Library until the 25th February. People can leave comments during this period in a suggestion box which will be by the display.
