Labour Councillor fails again to speak up for Coleview as Conservatives retain Bus Service
The Conservative Cabinet will be discussing the implementation of the new three year Bus Strategy for Swindon, and it includes a recommendation to retain a bus service through Coleview. The report can be found at http://ww5.swindon.gov.uk/moderngov/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=285&MId=6062
Dale Heenan, “I am very pleased that my lobbying has secured the future of the Bus service through Coleview as part of the new three year Bus Strategy.”
Alongside the Cabinet report is a summary of comments from Councillors when we all were consulted on the decision. It is a shame that once again the Labour Councillor for Coleview has made no comment in support of the decision to retain the Coleview bus service, or if he disagreed then he didn’t make any alternative suggestions to say so. This follows the failure to ask a single question or push the case for saving the bus service over the last 12 months.
Councillors are elected to make difficult decisions and to be a strong local voice for residents. Sadly yet again it seems that Labour have failed to even try to represent local residents and are instead more interested in engaging in petty personal political attacks then putting residents first. Our ward covering Lower Coleview, Covingham, Liden and Nythe deserves better”
