Political parties are not the same – Libdems want a debate on road names, Labour want to ban spitting while Tories want to build a Solar Sound Barrier
Cllr Dale Heenan “The first three debates of Swindon Borough Council’s meeting on the 18th July show a clear divide between the priorities of the different political parties. This Council meeting is where all 57 Councillors debate any topic submitted which has the support of atleast two Councillors.
The Liberal Democrats submitted the first motion and have decided for Councillors to debate the idea that names of roads and streets in new developments should reflect Swindon’s history and heritage.
I proposed a debate on my Solar/Photovoltaic Sound Barrier idea and is the second motion on the agenda. The objective I am pushing for is Swindon Borough Council to implement a pilot scheme within two years. Fellow ward Councillor, Richard Hurley, seconded my motion for the Conservatives.
The Labour Party submitted the third motion for debate and they are trying to ban people spitting on the ground in the Town Centre”
