Stratton Parish accounts show £1.4m in cash and pocket £150k of residents money
The Stratton Parish Council accounts have been published at their AGM tonight, and show on 31st March 2013,
£1.4 million cash in the bank
£150k was added to reserves
Cllr Dale Heenan,
“These are staggering sums and it is clear Nythe forming its own Parish will have no impact on other residents, because Stratton Parish simply banks the £88,000 Nythe residents pay. A clear sign that Nythe is seen as no more than a cashcow by Labour Parish Councillors.
Stratton Parish Council hiked their parish tax by 2.5% this year, and already threaten rises next year, yet there is clearly no justification.
We have our differences and I will continue to work with, and support, Stratton Parish Council on local issues from play areas to allotments, but a Nythe Parish for Nythe residents is the right choice”
