Clerk of Stratton Parish to help ensure a smooth transition for the new Nythe Parish.

A resident of Nythe wrote to Cllr Richard Hurley and I, plus the Clerk of Stratton Parish Council, lastweek completely unprompted saying thank you. An extract said,

” I just wanted to say well done and thank you for getting Nythe out of the Stratton parish.  I wholly support this.”

In reply the Clerk of Stratton Parish Council said

” Many thanks for your email and congratulations on your success.

However, your thanks must be directed at Cllrs Heenan and Hurley for all the work they did on your behalf. The Parish Council did try to oppose this move but lost so I’m not sure you should be thanking us!

I sincerely hope the new Parish Council serves you well and I personally will do all I can to ensure as smooth a transition as possible. After all, I have been serving various communities in this sector since 1990 and I passionately believe that as far as local government representation goes, you can’t beat parish, town and community councils.”

Cllr Dale Heenan, “Parish councils have an important part to play in local communities, and I am certain a Nythe Parish for Nythe residents will help improve the local area.

The Clerk of Stratton Parish Council and I have worked on local issues together, including the Coleview play area funded by £110,000 of developers money.

He continues to work diligently, and his support for a smooth transition is heartening.

I hope his Stratton Parish Councillors follow through on their recent AGM comments thats its time to move on, and don’t waste any money on legal costs in a judicial review like the Parish Chairman claims in the media”
