Swindon Borough Council have received notification from BT that they propose to “re-align public payphone provision” in the Borough. This proposal involves the removal of a number of public payphones, following full consultation. BT state that these payphones are little used by customers. It is the the Council’s responsibility to consult the local community of the proposals.

For Covingham , Coleview and Nythe, this has implications as there are two phones proposed for removal as follows:

St Pauls Drive - Tel: 01793 521 111

Sywell Road - Tel: 01793 831 663

You now have the opportunity to comment on the proposed removal of the payphones. If you wish to make a comment, please send the response to Kimberley Walters at kwalter@swindon.gov.uk, Tel: 01793 466 294 by Friday 29th August 2008.

If your comment relates to a particular phone box, please clearly show the telephone number of the kiosk on your correspondence – numbers listed above. If you wish to discuss the notification or require more information, please contact Kimberley on the number above.
