Council Tax Set
When I was elected in 2003, Council Tax was a hot topic with residents, they had just seen under the previous Labour administration 42% increases in just three short years in the shadow of Swindon being ranked one of the worst Council in the country.

Things have certainly moved on since then. Through long hours of hard work, the Conservative administration that your three ward Councillors are part of, have set a Council Tax increase at an inflationary 3.4%. This Conservative administration believes in fair and affordable Council Tax.

Services are on the turn, with the Council now being ranked officially as a 2 star Council and highly likely to be a 3 star Council at our next review. We have achieved this by putting in place strong central management, budget controls and financial planning. In this coming year, the council will be making
