9/11/2006 – Covingham Traffic Calming Review
The following letter has been delivered to residents living near St Paul’s Drive and Kingfisher. This is the first major step towards removing the last remaining speed humps in Covingham.
Public Exhibition 24th & 25th November 2006
Halcrow is working with Swindon Borough Council to review how traffic calming and speed reduction measures are implemented in Swindon. As part of the review, your Ward Councillors have requested that the Covingham Traffic Calming scheme, which was installed in 2003, should be used as a case study. As such, we would like to understand a number of things from a residents/road users perspective about the Covingham Scheme. The information gathered at this exhibition will go towards the development of a traffic management strategy for Swindon, that will help residents and motorists better understand what they should expect if traffic calming is being considered in a particular area.
Using the Covingham scheme as a case study will also enable the Borough Council to reassess the suitability of the measures used in this location.
You are therefore invited to a Public Exhibition, which is being held at:St Paul
